About
Noam Rezgui(1997)is a transmedia artist and designer
based in Paris. His practice is hybrid, at the crossroads of numerous disciplines such as performance, 3D animation, music, digital sculpture, writing and game design. While video games, science-fiction cinema and literature have always
infused his craft, the discovery of authors such as Octavia Butler and Rivers Solomon has opened up
new narrative perspectives in his work. Through the use of 3D softwares and computer music, he creates characters, environments, artifacts, sounds and hybrid beings combining all these categories. He’s interested in making 3D animation and game design artistic and political tools, allowing people to share speculative / alternative fictions, questioning identity, race, organic-virtual hybridity, and historical legacies. His virtual worlds tend to become places of dissidence in which multiple memories, discourses of revolt and ways of remembering seem to be emerging.

He tends to make science fiction a sprawling medium to explore the world through an infinite number of fragments of past, present and future stories. He uses text, audio and numerous other samples to create interactions between beings from different period of time, socio-political context and background, conceiving space-time for what it really is: relative.

After obtaining a diploma in musical training at the Valence conservatory, he continued his studies at the École supérieure d’art et design de Saint-Etienne in 2021. His work has been showcased in Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier Debré (CCC OD), La Serre Saint-Etienne during Josefa Njtam’s Ça grésille dans les soubassements exhibition and for the Artagon x Art Explora opening of the Hangar Y in Meudon. He recently collaborated with the artist Clara Jo on on her film Nests of Basalt, Nests of Wood exhibited in Gropius Bau Berlin and Jeu de Paume.
